Tax Exemption for Foreign Embassies and Consulates

カーテンココは外務省指定の外国公館等に対する消費税免税店です。

※DSとは、Designated Storeの略です。

在日外交官等の多くは、日本と各国との間の「相互主義」の下で、消費税の免税を受けられます。（国ごとに取扱いが異なる）これら外交官等は、外務省が個別に発給する免税カードと外交官等身分証明票（証）を「指定店」で示し、免税カードに記された範囲内で消費税を除いた価格で物品などが購入できます。

消費税の免税の対象となるお客様は、大使館、総領事館、領事館、国際機関、外交官、事務技術職員、国際機関職員で外務省大臣官房儀典官室より発行されている大使館用免税カード、又は外交官用免税カードを所持されている方です。

Curtain Coco is a consumption tax-exempt store for foreign diplomatic missions designated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

*DS stands for Designated Store.

Many diplomats and other officials in Japan are exempt from consumption tax under the “reciprocity principle” between Japan and other countries (treatment differs from country to country). （Diplomats, etc. (treatment differs from country to country) can purchase goods and other items at prices exclusive of consumption tax within the range indicated on their tax exemption cards, which are issued individually by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and presented at “designated stores” with their diplomat identification cards (certificates).

Customers eligible for consumption tax exemption are embassies, consulates-general, consulates, international organizations, diplomats, administrative and technical staff, and staff of international organizations who hold an Embassy Tax Exemption Card or Diplomat Tax Exemption Card issued by the Office of the Minister’s Secretariat, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
